Losing Weight the One PLANT that hurts it
Have you been struggling on and off for years trying to get that target weight? What if I told you there’s a food that you’re eating every single day that’s destroying your chances, wrecking your metabolism and messing up your hormones? It could be even putting you at risk for heart disease, type 2 diabetes and Alzheimer’s. That may seem a little extreme but studies have found that this everyday staple has the potential to wreak havoc on your health and your well-being. What plant-based foods am I talking about here? Wheat. I know you don’t want to hear it. And I know I love wheat. I actually just did an allergy test and I’m intolerant to wheat. And as much as I love pizza or a grown up PBJ, I love my healthy, energy-filled life – a hell of a lot more. Here’s three reasons why you should kick the wheat habit as soon as possible. Number one, blood sugar disruption. Not a lot of people know this but eating a slice of bread has the same effect on your blood sugar levels as eating a teaspoon of plain old table sugar. That’s because wheat contains a carbohydrate that actually spikes your blood sugar levels like crazy, like crazy. That whole wheat toast that you’re eating for breakfast is not doing you good, my friend. Why not swap your bread for a lettuce wrap or they even have paleo wraps now. that are coconut-based and actually taste really, really good. Number two is leaky gut. It doesn’t matter if you’re gluten-sensitive or not. Gluten causes inflammation in the gut and it also makes it leaky. Research has proven this again and again. Leaky gut means that things can slip through the lining of your gut and cause breakouts of the skin, allergies, food intolerance, fatigue, diarrhea, mood disorders, and much much more. Number three is to block the nutrient absorption. See, I love the juice. And when I drink my juice, I want to make sure that I’m getting all those tasty nutrients every single time. Wheat can actually block some of that nutrients, the vitamins, the minerals, the aminos, the phytochemicals – it can block it in your body. Studies have found that two slices of bread is enough to block nutrient absorption by 90 percent. This is something most Americans eat at every single meal. That means that with all the ‘good food’ that they’re eating, it maybe be blocking all the nutrients. Hmm, interesting huh? People are walking around starving for real nutrients even though we live in a country with more food than we can even handle. What’s the solution? Kick that old wheat habit. And I know it sounds impossible but it is completely doable. You’re absolutely going to love the recipe that I have prepared for you today. And it really makes life worth it. So to kick this off, I’m going to teach you one of my favorite wheat-free recipes right here, right now. This is a gluten and dairy-free quinoa pizza. Here’s the ingredients: Make the dough with 1 cup of quinoa soak for about eight hours, and then drain. Have half a cup of water, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, 3/4 teaspoon of sea salt, 2 cloves of garlic sliced, 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning, 1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast. And for the sauce, we’re using vegan cheese, of course, almond is great, marinara sauce, toppings are roasted peppers, red onion, sliced mushrooms tomato slices or whatever else your heart desires. Here’s the directions: Number one, add all of the ingredients into a food processor or a high-speed blender and combine it until the dough resembles pancake batter. Adjust the water as needed. Number two: Pre-heat your oven to 450 degrees and coat the cast-iron skillet or an eight-inch round cake pan with 3 tablespoons of coconut oil. Add the dough using a spatula or as needed. Place the dough in the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Flip the dough and bake for another 10 minutes or until it’s brown and crispy. Step three is to add the topping. Step 4 is to place the pizza in the oven under the boiler for the next 5-8 minutes. Step five is to top with basil leaves and enjoy. This pizza is so delicious. It just melts in your mouth to get that nice crispy crunch from the quinoa crust. And you don’t have to worry about the wheat or about the gluten messing up your gut. You can absorb all the nutrients and have an absolutely amazing day my friend. I used to love eating pizza. Pizza, hotdogs, macaroni and cheese – all those things growing up in Michigan with my staples. And then I learned the truth behind what we can really do. I've noticed that when I eat bread I'm extra hungry. I haven't had bread in about 3 months and one day I ate a slice and I wanted to eat sugary foods all day long. I've noticed the spike and I just told myself I have to give it up. I love bread but I love my life and health better. I got rid of my bloating after I got bread out of my diet. Thanks for covering this important topic! For anyone seeing this and thinking it's wrong, or just part of a fad diet, it's not. Research has been proving the facts in this video more and more over the past 5 to 10 years. Even in people who aren't sensitive to gluten (a protein found in wheat and a few other grains), such as people with Celiac, gluten causes leaky gut. A leaky gut then allows bacteria, gluten itself, and all kinds of other stuff from your intestinal contents into your bloodstream, where they cause problems all over the body.
Part of the issue is because the wheat plant we grow and eat has been changing over the past few decades, and another is that we add extra gluten into almost every bread product and pasta, to make it extra soft and tasty. Our guts just can't handle it.
Going gluten-free (and I mean COMPLETELY off all sources!) isn't a fad diet, it's an important step for anybody planning to stay healthy and avoid diabetes, thyroid disorders, depression, neurological conditions, obesity, and a lot more. Do the research – the science backs this up.

could the reason that bread is bad is that they use yeast activators to bake..instead of real yeast like old school bread back in the day.when they would let the bread sit for days to create yeast activator. the fermenting process breaks down the what to ease digestion.???

Drew, YOU WERE RIGHT! I absolutely love this recipe I just tried it tonight for dinner. I didn't use as mush oil as you said to grease the pan and it stuck pretty good. I ended up eating it in odd pieces but still it was really tasty I will definitely be trying this again and passing this video on to my celiac friend! You've also inspired me to give myself a 1 week no wheat challenge. As I write this it's the end of day 2, so far so good. I'll be re-watching this video everyday to keep myself motivated! so true on the wheat. my doctor informed me that I had diabetes, and acid reflux and wants to check my liver as enzymes are high. I am really scared but have changed my eating habits and diet. I would really love a juicer because I really want to continue this healthy change in food and continue drinking my green juices and cabbage. I want to be more healthy and fit as it really scared me and I have faith that with the continuance of juicing and healthy lifestyle change, I can reverse/help my body to live longer for me but for my son and family. thank you for your videos as I love to watch.

OK this subject kills me. I love whole grain breads even with seeds…sprouted perhaps bread for breakfast. Gluten free bread costs way more than I want to pay for it. I do use lots of lettuce wraps… and cucumber in pla e if crackers etc. I do love my eggs in the morning Sunnyside up cooked in OEV unrefined C-P COCONUT OIL I usually buy at Aldi. I try so hard but my family still eats it. quinoa is a grain?
I also over a few years have been lactose intolerant… then I realized how much cheese my family consumed on everything; shocker too! and when they order pizza ๐ฎwhich I use to love
